We are TK Photo & Film, a husband-and-wife team capturing love stories through both photography and film.
Working as a duo allows us to move seamlessly throughout your day, documenting it from multiple perspectives while maintaining a calm, grounded presence. Our approach is intuitive and unobtrusive. We guide when needed, but never interrupt what’s real. Inspired by the textures of the Lowveld, its warmth, its stillness, its wildness, our work reflects a balance of elegance and authenticity.

fun facts about us
How did you meet?
Varsity, he moved in at the end of the hall and by chance knew a new friend of mine, with a lot of hard work (from his side), the rest is history. Here we are 7 years later.
What’s one thing you love about working together?
I get to accidentally be in his shots permanently… and he’s my husband, so he can’t really complain and we get to do what we both love together.
What’s your funniest moment while shooting a wedding together?
Has to be me losing a shoe mid-backward-confetti-walk (Juan finds this funny every time).
Dream travel destination?
France but this time somewhere along the coast like French Riviera…where the days are golden, the water sparkles, and time just slows down a little.
Coffee order?
Juan - Hot chocolate (Only “likes” coffee because his wife likes coffee).
Tas - Caramel macchiato, please, because I like my life like my coffee: a little sweet, slightly chaotic.
If you weren’t photographers/ filmmakers, what would you be doing?
Tas - Probably still doing what I do now… bringing ideas to life as a product developer (just with slightly less camera gear and a lot more samples).
Juan - Living his best life in a workshop, fixing bikes, managing the chaos, and somehow always covered in a bit of grease.

Who usually takes the lead in different moments of the day?
I handle the posing & explaining, and Juan is the quiet, calm force keeping everything smooth.

Who is more likely to cry at a wedding, and why?
Tas, emotions run high! Seeing each couple’s love story unfold is just too pure
(I mean who doesn’t love a good love story)

What part of a wedding day do you love capturing most?
The couple shoot, because all the chaos and fuss has passed, and they’re just glowing with pure joy. It’s the part where laughter comes easy, hugs last a little longer, and every little moment feels theirs completely.

How would you describe your shooting style in your own words?
Honest, playful, and a little sneaky… like a memory collector who also enjoys a good laugh along the way.

What inspires your work (outside of photography/film)?
Laughter with friends and family, unexpected adventures, sunsets, coffee-fueled mornings, and even the tiny bits of chaos that make everything real.

What’s one detail you always look for when capturing a moment?
Connection. That small, fleeting thing between people, a squeeze of a hand, a shared look, the little things that tell the story without words.

What do you want your clients to feel when they receive their gallery/film?
Like they’ve just time-travelled back into the best day of their lives… the kind where you laugh, cry, pause halfway through and say “wait, play that again.”

One piece of advice you always give couples?
Something, somewhere will go wrong… and it’ll probably be one of your favourite memories. So let go a little, soak it all in, and marry your person.
